Sylvia said that my internet was compromised. Knew my name and post code. Asked her to quote my BT account number. She read out a number but it wasn’t mine. She insisted that it was. I said tough and it was a scam. I laughed and she she was going to report me. Ho ho.

Girl with strong Delhi accent phones me saying she is calling from BT about some utter nonsense to do with foreign IP causing problems and wants me to do things on my computer to resolve issues, launch some software etc. Told her eat my chaddis and to clear off, not going to scam me, she screams it is not a scam as I hang up.

Answer the call in the normal way. Let them read through their script, but DO NOT REPLY. Stay silent. Finds its target every time. QED. 020 is London, but probably a line rented from Asia. Feel sorry that they are trapped in such a poor position in life's short journey.

BT technical- router problem apparently- but had heard that this is a scam so ended the call before they could connect to the server.I dont know if this was a genuine call or not

Said it was from BT Technical department. Showed as "INTERNATIONAL". The usual story of a problem with my router. Normally when this is pursued [I no longer do so!] They want access to my computer.
