Even gave me BT head office address. Insisted he WAS BT, butgave this number to call back on for confirmation. Didnt block their calling number, so it is 01002701156 . Do with as you wish :)

Someone hacking ip address (Scam call) reported by


Lady with Indian accent called. Said same as previous experience's described in this forum. When I asked for address and details of where she is calling from she hung up and called back with address in London and tel no as described already in this forum. She wanted me to turn on my computer so she can secure it for me! Obviously, I didn't and she threatened to disconnect my Internet. I told her I will call the police if she touches my line or call here again. She told me to "get lost" twice and then she put the phone down on me.

I was called om 020 3290 2609 and a male voice told me that someone was using my internet connection, the caller pretended to be calling from BT and informed me that if I did not respond within 30 minutes my internet connection would be terminated, needless to say this did not happen. I called the number and the dial tone was one you would expect from a miss dial. For me this is scam and if other people are called then do nothing on your computer, because once you allow access I am pretty sure that you will have problems.

Computer Scam pretending to be BT (Scam call) reported by


Have been called from a person, who had an Indian accent, pretending to be from BT broadband technical department. He said someone was hacking our internet/broadband and they would need to sort it out otherwise our internet would be disconnected in the next 30 minutes. I asked him for my account number which he said they didn't have access to, due to the department he worked in. He wanted to remotely access my PC to sort this problem out. I was immediately aware this was a scam so didn't let him and hung up. They called from 01632 960126 but when I asked his phone number said that it was 0203 290 2609. Complete scam, don't speak with these people.

Got a call from an Indian claiming my internet was compromised and other people are using it. She gave me her telephone number and London (she was clearly not from London). She wanted access to my laptop. I simply said I don't have one and she hung up.

Called regarding my internet, saying she was going to help me prevent hackers on my internet and wanted me to log on to particular sites. I asked for her address as she claims to be from BT and replied 81 Newgate street in London. I asked if she had a number and replied 02032902609, I asked for her extension number and she hung up !!!

Computer Hacking Scam (Scam call) reported by


Call from 'David Parker' claiming to be from BT Broadband and saying my computer was being hacked and he would resolve it. I indicated that we had BT Broadband (we don't) and he confirmed he was ringing as BT was our broadband provider. Wanted me to log on and he would talk me through what to do. I do not have PC problems (I was a Network engineer). I said I would ring back to confirm his status but didn't bother. Obvious scam.

Supposidly call from Mike Williams of BT. (Unsolicited call) reported by


Took a call from "Mike Williams" of BT suggesting we had an issue with our BT Broadband. Mike Williams had a strong Indian accent. Was rude on the phone and advised us he had our BT account number. Was on internet at time and with no issues. Advised would call back - number given was 02032902609. Seems to be a scam along the lines of the "Windows problem" one. They just want remote access to your PC.

A lady with a strong foreign accent rang me and told me that she was from BT and that I had a problem with my Broadband (supposedly other people using it) She asked me to turn on my computer (which I did) and asked me to press certain keys, this rang alarm bells and I refused. I asked if I could check that she was from BT and gave me this Number. The number she rang on original was according to caller Display 002032392603, she said her name was Lisa Williams

Caller stated he was from BT calling about the errors on my computer. He asked me to follow his instructions once sat in front of my computer and he would then be able to sort it all out for me. When asked he gave his name as Mike Williams-seemed unlikely as he had a strong foreign accent. I asked for his phone number which he gave as 0203 290 2609, band he also gave his BT employee number as DC0285. I said I would call him back when it was convenient for me and put the phone down. I agree with others that this individual was not calling from BT as I have had a lot of dealings with them recently and this is not how they behave!

Said he was calling about my Internet connection through BT. Asked him if it was the same if I didn't have BT. Apparently BT is the mother connection for all internet servers....! Told him my house was about to burn down & I'd call him back. As if! ????

Lady called Carol Informed me she worked for BT - investigating fraudulent access to my broadline via computer in my postcode area. Wanted me to follow her instructions on computer. Also gave a number for me to verify which was answered by "Nigel" BT Tech. I checked with BT - they would not act in this way and have no knowledge of this. This set up phoned several times and was very persistent. I have been assured it is not anything to do with BT
