BT Scam (Scam call) reported by Jo W.
As with the previous comments, I received a phone call from supposed BT employee from technical department with a very strong Asian accent, saying that my internet gateway is not secured & asking to log him onto my computer. Alarm bell started ringing as we recently got an antivirus directly from BT, so asked him for a contact telephone number just to verify it, he gave me the number 02032898768, which didn't seem right as all the BT numbers that I ever used start with 0800, so I googled that number & it brought me to this website!

An Asian agent by the name of David Parker rang me saying my internet connection had a virus. I played along for a bit and he tried to get me to log in to Teamview online. David you ****. I asked for a number which he gave before I told him where to go

Scam BT Call (Scam call) reported by Jace
Caller rang and said his name was David Parker, he had a very heavy Asian accent and sounded like he was in a call centre. He claimed to be from BT and said our broadband connection was insecure. When I asked for a contact number he gave me the number 02032898768. I rang this number and it rang several times then cut off. I realised it was a scam and thought nothing more of it. Then around 4 hours later he phoned again and said had I rang the number as he had been waiting for my call as it was important to sort out the broadband. He gave a load of nonsense that the manager was not in at the time I had called. I asked for my BT account number which he gave very rapidly and was beginning to sound annoyed with me. The number was wrong but he gave it in such a way that if you didn't have your number to hand you might be fooled that he knew the number. Reported it to BT, apparently all BT numbers begin with 0800. Very persistent scam, be aware.

claiming to be from bt and my pc has a virus (Scam call) reported by Annemarie Cover
caller 'David Parker'with Asian accent claiming to be from BT said my PC had a virus and wanted to help me fix it. Asked him for my BT account number he gave an incorrect answer stating this was normal because of the currently downloading virus??? He then had a conversation with a colleague in a different language- rude- I asked him for a number for me to ring on. He took his time and gave me 02032898768. A female answered with a false? name claiming to be a BT rep. It's bull. Dont trust these people. BT only call me with ref to sales- mobile contracts etc. SPAM CALLERS

Tried to access my computer to say they were from BT and that my internet was not secure. BT confirmed to me this was a scam.
