Call from mad telemarketeer who insulted and swore at me! (Nuisance call) reported by


This phone number rang me. I answered and heard ring tone for a second or two, and then was apparently put through to someone in the call centre which had rang me. I gave my name and asked who was calling. Silence. I gave my name again, and asked again who was calling. The caller then asked for me by name and asked if he was speaking to me, so I said "For the third time, you are." He took great offence at this, told me that I had a bad memory, swore at me, using a "dirty word or similar problematic statement" to accuse me of a very inappropriate relationship with my late mother, and hung up!

Exhibition hotel room scam (Telemarketer) reported by


Called our office number claiming to be from an exhibition/tradeshow we are attending. Immediately felt dodgy as if they'd been from the exhibition they would have had my personal number. Very strong sales tactics on phone to book a room near our conference centre. Once room was found in a hotel, sent over a DocuSign contract and was waiting on the phone for me to complete. At this point I said I wasn't doing it and hung up. Then found this thread am glad I didn't sign or pay for anything! Avoid!!!

Emailed me a couple of days ago, then I missed this call. They left a message to call them back, but the person on the phone (Donna) was not clear so I couldn't understand what she was calling about. Worked out that she was from "Business Trip Planners" (btripplanners.com). Scam site trying to get you to book your conference hotel through them. The conferences offer direct booking with the cheapest price, so there's no way they are legit. Stay way.

They asked me if I was the responsible person for the Oceanolgy in London and wanted me to confirm the stand number etc., I pretended to be stupid as I know these kind of calls before the exhibitions and she (unfriendly) told me to inform myself better and she will call back in a couple of minutes .. I am curious!

They knew I'm attending the Thailand EXPO , trying to help booking the rooms. Everything went normally but I hesitated right at the action he asked to give a bank card info. I asked him how much you would charge for the service , he answered me "mo extra charge" !! I ignored him afterward.

I didnt answer the call because I missed it. They left a voicemail saying we need to call back for our exhibition space at Learntec in Germany. They tried to sell us a hotel room and wanted to know our existing booking to be able to give us the fare discount.

They seem untrustworthy and do not name the company ('Business Trip Planners' http://btripplanners.com/ ) ahead of the phonecall. Obviously do not use them for anything, as if planning a business trip is that hard to begin with.

It was on my answer phone Automated voice saying a legal action had been started against me and my house is under observation saying I had to call them back before action was taken against me. Sounds like a scam havnt called them back
