From UK Power Networks and calls to inform of a planned, or unexpected power cut. You sign up to this service, usually as part of the service offered to protect vulnerable people where a power cut could result in loss of life. If you don’t require this notification just request it stops for your premises. They also have a text facility and I get both of these in the event of a planned or unexpected power cut. Therefore calls, or text should not be unexpected but as power cuts rarely happen these days they do come at any time, especially with the weather we have been experiencing recently.

Robot call from 'UK Power Network' claiming they are responsible for my power in London. I do not live in London, and have never dealt with this company. 'UK Power Network' is not a real company. 'UK Power NetworkS' is, but they operate a different phone number - they chose a similar name for confusion. The webpages they send you to (www.ukpowernetwork.co.uk & www.ukpowernetwork.co.uk/statement-of-service) are fake pages that automatically redirect to other pages littered with virus & phishing ads pretending to be robot captchas, Ali Express, etc (changes everytime). When the robot disconnected I could still hear somebody on the line. I told them "I know you're still there" and they immediately disconnected. The positive reviews above are fake. This is not a genuine number, so nobody could have a positive experience with them. They are clearly not genuine, as some of the messages are copied and pasted, and the names chosen are just odd. The partial IPs aren't even close to London, when this "company" is calling from a London number and claiming to service London. Do not answer, do not search the site. Hang up and block.

I received a call from this number at 4.45am. To have get out of bed at that time in the morning was not good to say the least, plus I was worried that something had happened to one of my family. I was told about a power cut in our area and we were on their priority list. Sure enough on getting up later, I had to reset my oven and microwave clocks etc. so yes we had a power cut but only for about 15 mins.I don't think it justifies being woken up at 4.45am.

I was extremely impressed with the service and help received after reporting loss of power in our street! A* all the way ????

from an 0203 number, much favoured by scammers. Wanted me to press 1, or hold, for more info. I held for 15 seconds, then hung up. Said power cut was coming to my post code area (about 15 houses!). If they are renewing cables etc they always deliver cards to the whole street. Why not this time? Anyway, if it happens, it happens. We are close to midsummer so there is lots of natural light. We cook with gas. Power cut is only a problem if it lasts long enough for food in the freezer to melt. The whole call reeked of scam. Watch out!

Power Networks Power Outage in my postcode Automated Notification (Robocall) reported by


This was an automated call from Power Networks UK to advise of a power outage in my postcode. This was because I am on their priority customer due to disability. This was definitely a genuine caller. There is an option to speak to someone if you are affected by the outage by pressing a number after the notification.

Claimed a power cut in a certain postcode was linked to our phone number, unlikely enough as we hadn't had any power cuts and the postcode quoted wasn't the same as the post code out phone number operates from. Wanted me to press one to get more information, assumed some sort of scam.

UK Power Networks , The UK electrical power grid, Missed call from this number, its a genuine call to inform customers of issues with electrical grid in the area, power cuts etc. I signed up for these updates & am listed as a vulnerable adult, as I'm housebound disabled, so UKPN has a duty of care in place.
