Was called today by some Indian bloke claiming to be from BT London gave me the above number. Told that my broadband was showing up errors. I started asking him questions like where did he work and where did he live he said he worked in London and lived in East London when I asked what part of London he said Manchester city centre. I put the phone down and he phoned me back even though I had rambled him bit thick these people, anyway told him my broadband was with someone else he put the phone down ha ha

Said he was from BT and my internet connection was going to be shut down because of errors affecting their servers. I'm with TalkTalk. Wanted me to access my laptop presumably so he could get access and get my data. Gave me this number to call back on.

Caller claimed to be from BT in London but was clearly not the Adam Matthews he claimed to be. Wanted me to download an app to give remote control of my iPad! Claimed as with many others on here that someone was downloading multiple movies from my IP address and that they were going to close down my internet access for 20 days to rectify it. I told them to go ahead and I would discuss it with Virgin!

Caller, Bruce Williams, said there was a problem with my internet as someone was trying to make unauthorised use. I am not a BT customer. Beware.

The caller said that we had downloaded viruses and malware and this was interfering with BT equipment. We would be cut off from the internet in 20 days. This seems unlikely as BT IS NOT our internet provider.

Fake BT caller (Scam call) reported by


Claimed to be from BT at 7.45sm in the morning. Firstly said they were going to turn off the router as there were issues with malware/spyware and viruses turning the internet on and off. When I asked how long it would be off for, he (Mr. Walker) said they weren't turning it off at all but wanted me to speak to one or their technicians.....um

Attempt to get computer access?? (Scam call) reported by


Andy Peterson called my elderley mother saying that there is a problem with her BT connection. Fortunately she knows BT is not her provider. She would not engage, but he gave her a number to call him back on. I called this number and got the response 'Hello' - this is clearly not a professional/official organisation. I asked to speak to Andy Peterson and was passed to a man who sounded Australian. I asked who he was working for and he said he was not allowed to disclose this information. I commented that this was rather surprising as he had been claiming to work for BT, and he brought the call to an end saying he could not discuss the matter.

Computer corruption (Scam call) reported by


Told me I had to check my computer ID after providing me with a long code, I rang BT who he claimed to be working for and they confirmed he would have been able to access all of my computer information and it was definitely fraudulent
