Just spent 10 minutes on the phone with a very determined Indian who called himself Andrew Smeed who apparently works for BT' s technical department in London. He needed me to act quickly as my internet connection was going to be shut down within the next few hours due to the dangerous level of errors and virus' on my system and they needed to resolve it immediately. I asked him if he was aware of the time, it took him a minute or two but got there. Then told him that I didn't have any computers, confused him so he read his little script again. Told him he can read his script all day, no I have no script Madame. Then asked me was I in front of my computer and to switch it on, told him that due to the time he called me I was still in bed. He actually was amazed and told me I must get out of my bed and go to the computer, because ladies should not be in their bed at this time. Told him that in the UK the hours of business were between 9am and 6pm for most, his answer, his departments starts early. Told him it was irrelevant what time he started at he shouldn't be calling until after 9am. In the midst of all this I got him to give me a telephone number 02031294846. It is a scam company trying to get access to your computer. He was very determined and confirmed my address and hubby's details. Told him that it was all incorrect, which peeved him. He then said he would keep the details and ring me back at his convenience. Told him no way remove all contacts immediately. Not likely. I would think due to the time these guys are ringing they may get some vulnerable people who may believe it's BT. Just make sure they know that BY wouldn't call at this time.
