Very persistent Asian Woman saying she was from Telephone Preference Service offering to upgrade for 'free' to block all nuisance calls. Then goes through my name, address and phone number, then asks for expiry date on a visa card (which I haven't got any of), I said I'm working she wanted to call back at set time, asked me to go and find my card , by now fuming I said I'm working and busy she said I can wait, so I slammed down the phone . Complete Scam Don't answer Phone and don't give any credit card details..

Said they were from Telephone preference service and that I was entitled to upgrade to block all nuisance calls but that I needed to confirm expiry date of my credit card. I challenged her and was given a London address as their office. Caller was very persistent but I said any changes I wanted to make I would do through the correct website.

Asian sounding man claimed to be from a telephone preference service asking if I still received nuisance calls. When i said yes, he then claimed to be from to be "my call logging department". At this point I said there was no such thing, accused caller of being a junk call and put the phone down.

CJust finished call with the above number having cold called me on my landline - the voice of an Asian or African female who said they represented the Telephone Preference Management - Sounds like Telephone Preference Service so the unwary will think they are talking to TPS. When questioned 'Are you the Telephone Preference Service' several times their answer was we are Telephone Preference Management each time and initially dodged my question When asked were they a division of TPS in frustration they answered 'yes' but not in a reassuring manner! They then asked if I paid my telephone by Direct Debit and stated that my Credit card expired in December 2016 and wanted to update details to continue the service. As when I joined TPS for no fee I advised the caller that did not see the relevance of their questioning and refused to give any further financial information. The response was an abrupt one advising me they would withdraw the blocking of calls service with immediate effect and cut the call off Avoid like the plague!

These calls are getting beyond a joke - my 92 year mother in law (who lives next door) gets a call from this number, because she is almost invalid and does not answer, the call ends. We then get a call seconds later - I have both our numbers registered with TPS, but these people still get through.

Just had an irate Asian woman claiming to be from TPS asking me for credit card details she claimed I submitted for this service. When I said "Er, no the service is free" she said my credit card ended with a certain four numbers and that she would "wait" for me to get the card, I told her in no uncertain terms where to get off. This is a scam folks and one that should be highlighted on Watchdog or any consumer program so that the elderly won't be fooled.

As others, said she was from the TPS and updating. Said my card would be expiring and asked for details. When I said the TPS did not need to know she hung up.

As with other reviews caller stated he was from telephone preference service. It was a very poor line with much backround noise. He gave his name and seemed to know ours. We didn't believe him and on his second call said this was obviously criminal and hung up. May report to bt.

Asian caller stated he was from telephone preference management phoning to check that nuisance call block was working coincidently we have not had any recently. Asked to confirm my address and that our bill was paid by direct debit sounded very plausible . He then wanted confirmation of expiry date of my bank card when I told him I did not discuss my bank details with anyone and if he required info he would need to put it in writing he hung up.
