Chap claimed to be from Environmental Agency asking about my company and directors. He blabbed something about carbon emissions but i told him that the Environmental agency wont cold call so he hung straight up. Its about time the Government starts acting on these scam callers.

Claimed to be from the Environment Agency and needed to send information about carbon emissions and lighting/heating. When I said we rented space in a shared office he hung up!

Won a Smartwatch (Unsolicited call) reported by


Date: August 11th 2017: 14:36 Telephone call from 020 3034 0194 claiming to be from Polar Lighting stating that I had won an Apple Smartwatch. She asked me for my home postcode and house number in order to dispatch the prize. Asked me to quote reference RB 7192 in case it didnt turn up and so I could chase it! I feel very suspicious about this call because I have never heard of Polar Lighting and this number appears to be linked to nobody.

Phoned to ask about our telephone line. When I told her we had a seven year contract, she went on to ask further questions, to which I replied we have a seven year contract. She still went on about the line and needed to send information regarding a new system that was been installed by BT. I put the phone down on her. She phoned back twice afterwards, I didn't answer our new telephone system picked up her number.

Wanted to speak to the person that bought the cleaning products. Gave her a false name. Went on to ask various other questions. When I told her I didn't know she got very a*y with me. Why didn't I know? Said I was new to the company. I'm not. Then she put the phone down on me. HOW NOT TO DO COLD CALLING.

call everyday, sometimes up to 3 times a day to speak with 'manager'. very vague, never want to go in to any detail as to why they might be calling. always ask for a mobile number.

Calling trying to say they have spoken to people even though we know they haven't - wont give who they are - only 3 letters which is impossible to search for a company - tell them to send email or post and they say have to speak to someone - so rude

They phoned me at work and caught me off guard and I gave them my address and post code, nothing else thank god, what a mug I am. Now waiting to see what junk comes through the post or what damage I have done. Not to worried as they could have got my name and address out the phone book. Anyone have any more info on this scam and what they gain.

'Laura' claimed to be calling from Proctor and Gamble wanting our address to send out a free catalogue of cleaning products that we has ordered. We never ordered a catalogue and when she didn't get the information she wanted she hung up.

Said they'd just got contracts for cleaning with Apple and Samsung. Wanted to send us 'free' watches. Sure this must be a scam...otherwise, I just missed out on a free watch!
