On checking my v/mail messages there was one from this number. When i called the message centre an automated woman's voice asked me to press 1 if I was the person who's name she said. I tried pressing 1 several times and it just kept asking me the same question.

Thank you everyone who was kind enough to clarify that this robotic sounding automated call is from King's to remind me of an appointment 7 days from now. A great idea but could use a techie's touch to tweak it a tad just to announce "Appointment Reminder Service from King's OPD" (or similar) as we live in a world with nuisance calls so most of us screen calls these days.

Had a call from this number. It simply said if your are Mrs. (then my name pronounced incorrectly) and to press one if you are this person or two if you are not. I put the phone down and looked it up and it was a reminder service for a hospital appointment. All well and good but a very odd way to do this as I thought it was probably some sort of scam when I picked up the phone. Surely they should announce who they are and then ask you to confirm your name.

Missed call from this number so rang back. It answers but no1 speaks. How would ine know this is the hospital. I onlt knew by googling the number. When u ring back it should announce who they are & state calls are not taken on this mumbwr but if meed be they will call u back Guys hospital does it. Otherwise people, lije me, will block caller &ay one day forget to write down an appointment and not be reminded because caller is blocked.
