Received call from 0203 003 4660 telling me to call 0333 202 7464 to verify a transaction. Had already received a text querying transaction. Was suspicious so called Barclays Premier and they confirmed there were no alerts on any transactions and that the communication was NOT from them. They told me the scammers can make calls appear if they originated from Barclays. Definite Scam to try to steal personal info!!!

This is Barclays fraud team and not a scam. Didn’t answer the call but called called Barclays back using the number I always use and they confirmed the call was from their fraud team calling to check a possibly fraudulent transaction.

I got a text saying that there was a suspicious transaction. Then another text to reply Y/N to it if I know the transaction. I replied N, and I got a text that someone will call me. Few seconds later, a man called saying that he is from Barclays. Asked for account number and other things. I hesitated and he said to call through the app, meaning he knew I won’t give him the details. Not knowing it was a scam, I called real Barclays through the app. A lady said there is nothing suspicious going on. Be careful guys. Don’t trust random people.

This was used on me as a fake Barclays scam. I received a text about a possible fraud and that text appeared to come from Barclays. When I marked the supposed transaction as being fraud they phoned from this number pretending to be the fraud department. I answered and they reassured me I could call the number on the back of my card. I had heard of ‘call back’ scams so instead of phoning anyone I walked to my local Barclays branch and they said they had no record of the attempted fraud OR of any of their departments having called me at that time. DO NOT TRUST this number. And remember the scammers can put up positive reviews for this number on sites like this.

I'm def not a scammer (just been scammed myself n came to make sure number was what they say) and I'm now reassured this is real. Of course they will say ring number on your card if in doubt.
