"we're calling you about your recent accident" etc, the caller refused to accept that they were making a cold call and asked for "details about your accident to validate the claim". When really pushed to say who they thought they were calling and at what address, it was clear that it was a previous owner of my phone number that they have on their database. We get 4-10 cold calls every week where they ask is that Mr/Mrs A... and then launch into their spiel. I reckon that those people had their phone no. changed to escape the cold calls and subsequently British Telecom assigned it to us when we moved house last year. Thanks, BT, you've made our lives a misery. BT refuse to help unless we pay them more money to change the number or to add call blocking to our line rental. BT are complicit in the cold calling!
