Silent call followed by "goodbye". Probably a robot looking for active lines. Don't answer. I've added this number to my phone's phone book under "COLD CALL".

A real pain keeps calling silent then a beep and computerized says "Goodbye " what a waste of time !! if you see this number pls just dont answer ..and dont bother to phone back i never !

Call answered but no-one spoke, I waited for a couple of moments then a recorded voice said goodbye. I called the number back but there was an operator message that the number is not in service

This number keeps calling and when you answer a recorded voice says Goodbye. I subscribe to telephone preference service and they still call. It's a nuisance.

Clearly this is a nuisance and most certainly is unsolicited. Whilst the number appears to be a Manchester number clearly it is not. An elderly family member had a call from this number and in no way could understand the Asian caller. It is probably a fake number. When they ask if I have been in an accident recently my usual answer is to say "You tell me you seem to know". To the contributor who asked what 00 means in front of the number it is simply the first 2 digits you would dial when calling an international number from the UK. There is no 00161 so again it is a fake number. NEVER NEVER give info to an unsolicited caller. Only deal with companies know and preferably when you have initiated the call. If in doubt hang up. Get a number if poss for the company that allegedly called you and confirm. DO NOT use the same phone as the person that called you may have blocked your line and pretend to be the genuine number.

I answered and waited for the other end to pick up. It was a call centre in India who asked if I had been in an accident recently. Would recommend not answering

I had a missed call from this Manchester number on my mobile but no message left. Also similar number called me recently - 01618269383 and 01618269385, probably the same marketing company? don't wanna call back since I do not know the number - it could be just a robocaller testing if my number is responding, don't want to let them know my line is active... People please did someone answer it? Who is behind this number?
