A guy told me that his company had been trying to call me many times (true but I hadn't answered) and insisted that I had ppi to claim & his company wanted to send me a letter. He already had my address. He had information on which banks I'd used but I wouldn't confirm this information or any other questions. I asked him acliad of questions & this is what I got - Manchester based company called Payment Protection Team, 1st Floor, Marsland House, M33 3AQ. Tel 0800 849 8060 When I asked why he hadn't given me a landline business number he couldn't answer. I asked for his name and he said Michael Andrew. He wanted to ask me questions about my finances but I refused, telling him that he was a stranger and that of course I wouldn't discuss anything with him. He then said 'I must remind you that this phone call is being recorded' as if that was some kind of threat that I had to answer. I then said that for the record as this was all being recorded that I was speaking from a private number and that this was an unsolicited call, an invasion of my privacy, I was no way going to answer questions from a stranger, with no proper verification, I would be checking out his company he claimed to be from etc etc. and that I had answered what I thought was a genuine call from a landline and I had no obligation to speak to him and he had no right to record the call. I thought he'd put the phone down but he didn't he was still hanging on. He said he'd send me a letter explaining what the call was all about. He said I might be entitled to over £2000. He wasn't rude but it was obviously a nuisance call as far as I was concerned. I don't usually answer all the 0800 calls coming in but when it's a landline it could be anyone that you potentially know!

Shaun/Sean from Manchester based PPI Team - Claim specialist (Manchester Marston Road) claiming that I have been mis-sold PPI. He refused to give me details of who it was I had PPI from and then got very defensive when I questioned him and pointed out that he was potentially committing fraud.
