A man kept calling claiming to be from E-ON saying that my contract was going to expire in 2 months. I told him I am not with E-ON and then he switched up to 'actually ma'am i am not calling directly from E-ON but from an energy helpline' ...he was telling me he would charge me for outstanding bills from the previous owner of the business. I have had this business for 2 years and I am with a different energy provider to the previous owner. I refused to give any details or confirm any details, told him to remove my number from their system and stop calling, hung up. He called back 2 more times and eventually stopped when I picked up the last time told him i will report this number to the police if you do not stop calling....he stopped. waste of my time.

Renew "existing" Energy Contract (Scam call) reported by


Told me my existing contract with EON runs out later this month. I am not with EON! They said they could reduce my costs. I asked how much am I paying now. They could not answer. I asked then how could they know they could reduce my costs. They quoted rates and asked me if they were indeed lower. They said they would have to confirm my identity and asked what my last payment amount was. I said I did not remember. They asked for a ball-park figure. I said I paid so many bills I could not remeber. They said that was ok, and my identity was confirmed. They confimed they were going to renew for a 3 years, and asked for my details. I said they had them, it was a renewal. They said it was a different department. I said transfer me. They couldn't. I asked for the contract expiry date. They said 28/06/17 (ie. in 21 days!) I asked for my contract number and/or client number. They couldn't give it to me. They did reassure me and said they don't need it - only my details. I said I want to check something. They said everything is fine, and could they proceed with the renewal. I said it was not fine for me, I need them to transfer. They couldn't, and hung up. Do not trust them!

Called and advised they were calling from Eon (they are UK utilities ltd) said her name was Anna Jones but could barely speak English, when I asked for a manager they refused and told me to "shut my mouth" and hung up haha

Called re: Utility... I told him we were with EDF...he immediately said "Yes, I am ringing from EDF to offer you better rates than we are currently on because our contract is up for renewal". The contract has at least 5 months to run so told him not interested. Was passed higher up the food chain to a manager, but told him we weren't interested and eventually hung up, but they called back immediately, so told him we didn't have any electric onsite... no utilities at all and that we were a completely green company working by hand and the old way, we start when its light and go home when its dark; use water from a stream, burn wood for heat and use the stream's waterwheel for power - blew his mind and didn't know how to handle the call, eventually he had to admit defeat.

Asked me how i was and after a pause he said he waas fine with out me answering. whould not listen just went into his spiel. I totally lost it with him and he waass still spieling his spiel. Constant telephone calls from this caller during the week, I ignored final call resulted in a long rant of sexual and abusive threats with very rude and disgusting language to both myself and my staff. I advised that I would be reporting to the police and hung up to date have not received another call - but very unsettling.

24/10/2016 South Asian call centre. Purported company they are calling from changes every time, but their BS does not. Had a woman calling this time who persisted in ringing me every time I hung up on her demanding why I hung up. Blocked my phone for 5 minutes with constant calls until she eventually gave up. Total scum. Don't answer.

Indian chap says from E-On and contract due to expire. Yes we are already with E-On 6 months into a 24 month contract so this was clearly a scam call. Asked if I was the owner and answered him "Of what", then hung up
