Guy with a very VERY heavy Indian accent introduced himself as *Nicholas Watson* so I said *what's your real name Abdul?* Silence at his end for a few seconds, then he began to explain why he was calling - something about a survey *it won't take more than 40 seconds to complete...* *Complete this then....* I replied and ended the call. So SO sick of these shysters!!

An Asian lady calling herself Sylvia from Your Preferences, hmmm, said she would take 30 seconds to ask me a few questions. I rang off and blocked. They are trying to confirm your details and sell them on to other marketers or scammers.

Consumer survey he had my details incl. mobile and home address. (Survey) reported by


He first clarified I was who I was and had my address and mobile number. I asked how he had these details and he said one of my family must of done a survey at some time, which I did not agree with. He said it would only take a minute but the call lasted 7 minutes and then suddenly hung up. He asked whether I was married, what age bracket I came into, whether I owned my house, whether I invest, whether I had life insurance, name of company who provided energy (I refused to answer that question), name of company that my washing machine comes from and during this time I kept asking what the company would do with all this information and he kept saying it is good to know who is the most popular company for energy and white goods. I feel upset that he had all this information on me and do not want to be bombarded with sales calls...

Timing of calls strongly suggests caller1) aware of dial 1471 after midded answer 2) then uses other spoofed numbers instead. Evidence ciurcumstantial only but convincing

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1518080xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, accident claims. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
