Called pretending to be from Microsoft, telling me there was a problem with my computer. I responded that she was lying and that this was a scam call. She got very indignant and asked me how I knew. I was in a good mood so decided to play along. I explained I was an IT professional. She then said that she hadn't said she was from Microsoft (yes, she had), and then asked me what an IT professional was. Went on for a few minutes before she hung up

I received a telephone call, the person that spoke said that he wanted to speak to whoever owned the laptop, he used a name of a person who died 24 years ago! he did say that he was ringing from Microsoft with regards to a problem there was with the laptop, he did speak with an American accent, I cut the call off.

This is the third call from Doncaster. He claimed to be calling from Microsoft to fix an attack on my computer. He wanted me to open up my computer and follow his instructions. He would not give his phone number and rang off when I asked. I got it by ringing 1471. I have already reported a previous similar call to the police who agreed it was probably a phishing call.

Typical scam call that I played along with for a while to waste their time. Claimed to be on the Microsoft campus in Reading, despite this being a Doncaster number. Spoke to two women the first time, both with foreign accents (Philippina?) The next day I was rung back by a young man, same accent, who made threats to reveal my identity to others and scam me. I pointed out the genuine distress these scams have caused two of my elderly custonmers, but he just got nasty.
