Had a call from a lady purporting to be from TalkTalk to advise me of a fault on my wi-fi that would prevent me from using my PC to access the Net. I was actually accessing the Net and sending e-mails via TalkTalk at the time she called. I requested her telephone number and name ~ the telephone display had indicated her number a 'unavailable'. She advised a name of "Jessica Martine". I advised that I would ring TalkTalk with her details to confirm it was not a hoax call and would have TalkTalk confirm to me that her call was valid. I strung out the call for as long as I could to waste her time and she hung up 'with the hump'. Point proven I think. When are these people going to jail !

I was almost scammed this way before. I knew better this time, spoke to the guy for a bit to ask why he was calling. I then asked for his number for me to call back and he gave this number. He claimed to be from Talk talk telling me that my connection shows errors, etc. As I very nearly got scammed before, I knew that he was going to ask me to turn on my laptop--which he did. What they will then try to do is gain remote access to your entire laptop!!! Do not entertain this call!!! They are very dangerous, persistent scammers!!!

I have had calls numerous times - all through the day, sometimes 4 times a day very unpleasant and belligerent. Telling me they are from TalkTalk and threatening me saying I had to turn on my computer to fix it.

Just had the same call from 'peter' technical fault with my wi fi. And told me if I didn't go through with what he said I would be disconnected tomorrow. Very abrupt with me about it. I told him fine cut me off and I will go to another provider! In the end I told him I will contact customer serices tomorrow as it is 10.15pm at night and I knew it was a scam as he was calling so late. Don't fall for it.

Indian accented man called “peter parker” rang claiming to be from talktalk but dealing with the server (so didnt matter if my privider was sky,bt, virgin etc) and requesting i follow his instructions due to co corrupt files on my computer!! Upon refusal he told me i didnt understand the importance of his call. Very persistent.. what a scam!!!!

Man claimed to be from TalkTalk and said something wrong with my internet/router/computer. All a bit vague. He gave this number and the address 28 at 34 Albert St, Birmingham, B4 7UD. I have looked up this address and it does exist but with the postcode B4 7LT (I may have misheard due to thick accent). I have had many of these before and TalkTalk are not interested so I left him talking to my television!

Said they were from Talk Talk technical dept calling due to errors and warning notifications coming from my computer. Gave me my correct name, address, phone number plus user id (not sure if this was correct as no idea what it is). They asked me to run a program on my PC - were very persistent when I asked what this action would result in and basically told me to listen and just do it - very unrealistic customer approach! Name they gave was Max Stirling, strong Indian accent. Told me they wouldn't be wasting their time trying to persuade me to get the problem sorted and that if they were scammers they would have hung up already. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMMERS!

Pretty much the same as all the other calls noted here. Very strong indian accent with an English name (Steven Martin!) and was pretty hard to understand but wanted to tell me Talk Talk had a problem with their server therefore my internet line. I told him I left Talk Talk 2 months ago so why was he phoning me. He got a bit flustered then told me that Talk Talk supply the 'line' for ALL internet suppliers. What absolute rubbish! Glad he got someone like me but if it was an elderly person, they may not be so lucky. He gave me this number when I continued to challenge him (although he wasn't happy about it) 01212 840935

Received a number of calls over the past couple of days where they rang off just before I got to the phone. Some were overseas numbers and hung-up when I answered. Answered one today and the guy was unusually persistent, even when I told him to delete my number from whatever database he was using. He insisted that he was from Talk Talk, he told me my address and gave me a Talk Talk account number (I checked the account number and he did have the right one and most of my address, although I think he said the postcode wrong). This was more worrying than usual because of how persistent he was, usually they hang up when challenged for information. I have reported it to Talk Talk and gave them the number 01212840935, as this is the number 'Adam Wilson' said was the number I could return the call on. When will these cretins learn!

I've had a few landline calls from these scammers lately - usually when I'm out. couple of times they've unintentionally left a voicemail on which you can hear a lot of them talking in the background. Answered one today. Caller Display said 'unavailable' (there's a surprise!). An Indian lady who could barely speak English tried to tell me she was calling from TalkTalk about my service. I'm not a Talktalk customer - but was once. Told her the line was really bad and I'd have to call back (obviously I didn't). she gave her number as 01212 840935.

Person with strong Indian accent called me on landline claiming to be from Talk Talk and that I had virus on my computer that could take my personal details, which, incidentally he had - address, postcode, Talk Talk ID. He asked me to log on so he could tell me what to do. I asked for a phone number which he was very reluctant to give - 01212840935 - I checked and found it is a scam.

Woman with strong Indian accent rang and said she was from talktalk (my internet provider) worryingly she knew my name and address and said talktalk were having internet problems and if I turned on my computer she could help me correct them. Obviously it was a scam and I said someone was at the door if she gave me her number I would call her back. My husband did call back and an Indian guy answered just with hello when asked who he was he replied oh this is talktalk after a short conversation... he hung up. I have reported the call to talktalk and given them the phone number.

Call claiming to be from TalkTalk technical services stating there was malware on my computer, and saying they would guide me through the process of getting rid of it. Rang off and rang technical services. They said this was a scam call - the scammer hoped to gain remote access to my computer, which it would then check for bank and personal information and use this to withdraw money/bribe me.

Hand the same call from an Asian sounding guy name of David, said he was from Talk Talk Tech. Dept. checked and yes its the same scam. He gave the same tel no. as here. Wanted to do Window R which gives remote access to your computer.
